What’s your big idea to halve violence against women and girls? The government have pledged to halve violence against women and girls in a decade. We’re asking brilliant minds across politics, law, academia and frontline services how they would really get it done.
In this new series’ first episode, Lucy Hayton, our fabulous host and CEO of Right to Equality, is joined by the incredible Dr Charlotte Proudman. Watch on YouTube.
Charlotte is a multi-award-winning barrister, academic and campaigner, recognised as one of the UK’s leading family lawyers and among the most prominent women’s rights advocates in the country. Her cases have shaped how the law approaches domestic and sexual abuse.
She is the founder of Right to Equality, as well as her own law firm, Proudmans and the author of He Said She Said.
Charlotte’s big idea? All family courts should consider themselves specialist domestic abuse courts.
In this episode, Lucy and Charlotte dig into why the family courts are a frontline in the fight to halve violence against women and girls and Charlotte lays out her bold plan for reform, including a dedicated Family Justice Bill.
